Modern history of OCM (2020 – currently)
2020, January 17
This day marks the new era of the observatory, as today the contract between European Southern Observatory (ESO), Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), and the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CAMK) was signed that transfers the observatory from RUB to CAMK and states that the official character of the observatory as an international astrophysical project hosted by the ESO Paranal Observatory.
2020, November 5
The news about the ERC Synergy grant is finally revealed, we got it! The project’s title is “Sub-percent calibration of the extragalactic distance scale in the era of big surveys” and it is funded under EXCELLENT SCIENCE – European Research Council (ERC). The total financial support is € 13,997,076.00 and the realization dates are November 1, 2021 – October 31, 2027.
